Bought this tonight at Tesco for £320. Can't believe how quick it was to set up, and its exactly the same OS as my big laptop, but weights hardly anything. Lovely keyboard, I am a touch typist, and the keys are the right size, and pressure. Absolutely delighted with it. Just checked on the internet and Tesco price is best. I despise Tesco and all it stands for but can't resist a bargain. Lovely netbook, just lovely.

This small, lightweight netbook is highly portable and offers internet access and all other computing functions on the move or around the home away from my big, bulky, desk-bound PC.
Primarily, I bought my netbook to gain online access to the internet and emails while on the move but I've found I'm using it far more than I imagined and probably more than my main PC now. This was not the intention but is testament to how functional and enjoyable this little bundle is to use. The incorporated webcam is surprisingly good in low-light and, while I'm away, it makes keeping in touch easy while also showing 'live' a little of the area I'm visiting(!). The sound quality is also extremely good with 5.1 channel surround sound via the dolby headphone socket - not at all like the 'tinny' sound traditionally associated with laptops.
It includes a good range of basic software - MS Works, MS Office (trial), McAfee Internet Security (trial), Cyberlink DVD player (although the netbook doesn't have a DVD drive!) and accessories - even bluetooth.
Although it doesn't have the fastest processor (Atom 1.2GHz) this has only really been noticeable when installing hefty programs which take three times longer than on my Pentium 4 3.4GHz PC. However, its ability to handle video - a heavy-duty, processor-hungry function, has impressed me. While away I was able to quickly put together a simple 3-minute video, add a backing track, connect wirelessly to a hot-spot and upload it to YouTube all within just 30 minutes from start to finish, including rendering time.
The features which attracted me to this particular model over the vast array of competing models were:
1. Large, clear 11.6" screen (most models in this price range average 10")
2. Long battery life of 8.5 hours (competing models average about 5-6 hours at best)
3. Large 2GB RAM memory (instead of 1GB offered by other models)
4. 250GB hard drive (competing models usually offer 160GB)
5. Large keyboard
6. Multi-card reader for rapid photo and video download
7. Bluetooth installed
The touchpad is smooth and highly responsive and the large keyboard is a treat to use - the keys are actually larger than my full-size PC keyboard at home making for easy and accurate touch-typing.
This is the perfect netbook for anyone who travels but needs to keep in touch with friends/family/office or simply wants to browse the internet while away from home. Or, it could be used a sole computer (with a DVD writer - such as:Samsung SE-S084C/TSLS USB 2.0 8x DVD Writer External Optical Drive for PC, Netbook and Mac - Blue) if you don't tend to use heavy-duty applications eg complex video-editing. With its larger hard drive size and double RAM compared to most current netbooks in this price range, it means photo editing and simple video compilation are possible (just insert memory card into incorporated multi-card reader) and these can be stored on the hard drive until It is small, lightweight, compact and an attractive design.
I'm enjoying using this netbook, am more than happy with its performance, appreciate the portability of its compact design - and I even like the colour which makes a pleasant change from traditional black or dark grey!

Frankly, this is a little marvel! Powerful yet so handy, one can take it anywhere. Pity it came with Vista, but this can be upgraded to Windows 7 - if it really is needed! The keyboard is a joy to use.
The battery being new, has yet to give me more than an indicated 7.4 hours, but frankly I would hardly ever work at it for that long! Seriously, the more it is used the more the battery will take a charge nearer to the stated 9 hours. There are enough USBs' and the connection for a disk drive certainly works with the Duronic Slimline CD-RW or DVD-ROM drive that I bought at the same time. Wi Fi works like a dream, so what more can a non-technical idiot say about it? - Except I am very pleased to have bought it. In fact it is the second ACER I have bought, as I obtained the smaller version for my wife, which is not as powerful, but good enough for what she will be using it for.

I agonised for months over a laptop and discovered this little gem on Amazon at a fantastic price. A friend who works in IT had recently purchased a Compaq laptop and advised me that the "spec" on this Netbook was better than his laptop. I ordered but was apprehensive as I'd never purchased anything electronic or as expensive online before. I have to say Amazon delivery was fast and the package was secure and padded so on first impressions the Netbook was in perfect condition. I love everything about it. The colour, the size, the webcam, battery life and WI-FI connection enables me to use this at home in any room. My apprehension when I committed myself to this purchase has been replaced with total satisfaction. Well done Amazon!

Bought this for myself as I couldn't get on to the home computer (I was always the last in the line, which usually meant a 1.00a.m. slot by which time I was sleeping).
Anyway it's light, portable (fits neatly into a little side bag I have) and the graphics are lovely.
As well as surfing the net, I also have my I-Tunes library installed, photo's and a lot of notes in word, excel, etc. (I installed Office Professional - didn't use the 60 day Office trial. I did find it a bit complicated to delete the trial off the netbook though - but I am not a computer whizz either).
Two downsides - slightly slow in starting up (not life threatening though) and should have come with Windows 7.
I now have to fight off my son, who is beginning to think it may belong to him!!!
